Programme: First Line Management - Christchurch

National Certificate in Business Level 3

Starts Monday 2 August

Team leaders are crucial in any business.  They are the line between the businesses management and the general staff. If the ‘First Line Managers’ are doing their job well, then it takes a huge weight off the upper management.

However, many staff are promoted to supervisory or team leader roles because they are good at being a production worker and very often have never had the training to make the transition from production worker to supervisor or team leader. The move from being one of the ‘boys/girls’ to a supervisor or team leader can be a difficult transition.

This course will give your staff the confidence to achieve the goals requried to be a Team Leader and the skills to undertake the challenges of what being a Manager means.

Solution
The ideas and practical application learnt from this First Line Management training allows them to build and develop strong and united down line teams.  It will also allow for the provision of a complete performance management process being integrated into the business.  This training not only serves as skill enhancement but also allows individuals to have their skills recorded and recognised on the NZQA Qualifications Framework, as well as building staff loyalty and a positive learning environment.

Programme
The National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) Level 3 focuses on the areas of quality, people and performance skills. Knowledge and skills covered in the programme include relevant business skills such as quality management, systems and resources, people development, and interpersonal skills. The programme specifies the essential oral communication skills required of First Line Managers. However, it also teaches team dynamics and how to build relationships in the team and handle conflict.

The programme is delivered by way of the NZQA unit standards which are completed and assessed from practical implementation, with verification in the workplace.

Face to face facilitation is delivered over eight (8) days; Four (4) 2 day workshops all approximately one month apart.
