Workshop: Sensible Performance and Discipline Management - Auckland
Performance management is “the process of setting performance expectations, monitoring progress, measuring results, and appraising and rewarding or correcting employee
performance.”
While these goals are admirable, they are rarely met in practice. Many managers use ineffective performance management and disciplining techniques that simply ensure employment relations lawyers are kept in work.
This seminar is specifically designed to build the confidence of first line managers and supervisors to deal with performance related issues as they happen and not delaying until a formal performance appraisal or personal grievance hearing.
The seminar will contest many current practices in employment relations while giving managers simple techniques to ensure improving workplace relations.
Presented by Paul Chalmers, an experienced businessman with a background as an owner of both large and small companies. He is currently an Associate of the Partnership Resource Centre, established by the Labour Department to encourage more
productive workplace relationships. Paul has presented on employment engagement strategies to a variety of audiences both nationally and internationally.
Who Should attend: Anyone already or soon to be in a supervisory or team leader and management role.
